Red Star Restaurant

Brought mother in law here for their dim sum last Sunday. We reach at about 10am and manage to get a table after 5 minutes. We were sitting close to the entrance and after a few minutes I got shocked by the sudden queue which went all the way to the lift outside the restaurant.

The restaurant was crowded and packed and it is located in a HDB in Chinatown. Our table is not at a good spot as it is close to the entrance and their dim sum was served in those push carts trolley and so we got to wait much longer than the rest to order our food.

Their Xiao Long Bao is dry type without the 'soup' in the dumpling unlike Crystal Jade. I like the Banana pastry which is beside the You Tiao, is sweet and crispy thou is cold.

Mango pastry

Egg tart was super! Is similar to the portuguese egg tart, the tart was flaky and soft. My girl love it so much that she had 2 of it!

Char Siew Pau, I like this type of pau unlike those sold in  a steamer in coffeeshop. Is very soft and fluffy and the filling is very sweet and nice.

Total bill come up to $40 plus with a pot of hot tea. Price was a little steep but worth the return for their dim sum.
