KL Holiday 31st Dec - 3rd Jan 2015

I will sum up and make it short and sweet for my 2 days in KL. We stay at Dorsett Regency, Deluxe room which has a queen bed and a single bed. My boy and I slept the big one and papa enjoy his single bed but it was slanted! Thanks to Olivia Blog for recommending the taxi driver as we tried asking around it was not as good as the one she intro (very reasonable price). Check out her blog on her KL trip and in case you need a taxi to KL too!

We manage to get our room at 3pm! Service was not as good as PD, wifi is weak, hot water shower took 15mins to warm up! Called maintenance a few times but nothing could be done! If not for the location and price I won't choose here!

No toothbrush!

We went to Pavilion Shopping mall to grab our lunch!

Our simple lunch is located at the foodcourt, the only place which we can find baby chair. We went to shop around, had some teabreak before heading back to checked in and let baby rest.

Clean changing room at Pavilion Mall!

Dinner time we went to Chinatown to look for Bak Ku Teh. Travelling with a baby aren't easy peasy especially when comes to mealtime. Unless you have a good stroller which I saw, it can be tilt high up like a high chair. I am glad that hub made a good decision not to bring stroller because I realize all escalator in KL comes with a pole in between for safety issue which can be a hassle too.

Claypot Chicken

Veg

Steamed Fish, not fresh, stinky and not nice at all

Ba Ku Teh, so-so only

Thankfully we found this place with highchair for dinner but the food is so-so only. Is located at the end of the street market, facing a bank.

Day 2 in KL
Our breakfast at the hotel! I don't understand why is their bread so hard like rock!

Brought baby to Aquarium at KLCC! And got my happy buy, Jelly Bunny! Is a jelly shoe, another version of Melissa but cheaper biggrin

Hello Stingray!

We went over to Lot 10 Hutong for lunch and realize BB Plaza area are closed for renovation. It used to be my favorite shopping place File:icon sad.gif  Hutong is like our foodcourt but sold all KL local food, located at the basement. And we were looking for nursing room and there is none in this mall and I suddenly saw Isetan! Haha... if not I will need to change my boy openly in the public!

Hub said, this Ba Ku Teh cost about $18RM! Shocked

Hokkien Mee is nice!

Dinner time we went to Mid Valley mall. Taxi was expensive, it cost $25RM to reach there! Dinner was simple, we just settled at their foodcourt. The food wasn't cheap too, average about $12 each. Their living expenses here are pretty high too! And we took their train and transfer to monorail back to hotel, so much cheaper! $2RM per pax!

The crazy Magnum place!

Train

Monorail 'ticket'

Day 3: Sis in law got a taxi (which I won't recommend because it squeezy and stuffy!) for a half day tour before heading to airport. We had Nando's at KLCC, is more worth having it in Malaysia as they are cheaper than SG!

Batu Cave

Their T2, which is their so-called Budget terminal which hub said he feels like no aircon and so warm! Budget airport even aircon also must budget? lol

Home sweet home and back to reality! Holiday is always tired and not enough! Looking forward to my 'Annyeonghaseyo' trip in March!

KL Holiday 31st Dec - 3rd Jan 2015 - Port Dickson

Since I am on 2 weeks leave (clearing leave) so decide to have a short trip to somewhere near. Book budget air to KL instead of taking a coach since I got a 12 months old travelling together. Ticket cost each adult about $90SGD but baby $50 which I find it too expensive. I took Qantas and it only cost me less than $100SGD for my baby to go Gold Coast!

After the whole trip, I conclude that taking airplane plus all the travelling cost and time is much much much more expensive than taking coach. But going with a little one I have no choice. If I take bus I think I will end up been curse and swear by other passenger throughout the journey lol!!

Fly to KL via Jetstar and arrived by 45min but return by Tigerair and it took us an hour plus! Upon reaching KL, we took a airport train to get out to the immigration area and to collect our luggage.
Please note that, once you chopped your passport and leave the custom you will immediately spot a taxi counter. PLEASE DO NOT USE THAT TAXI COUNTER! Please correct me if I am wrong. The 1st taxi counter actually charge us very expensive, $250RM comparing to the 2nd one I went which is just outside. Turn right and walked all the way down, after the lift if I remember correctly. A premier taxi for 4 adults and 1 baby to Port Dickson cost us around $140RM. Taxi is not squeezy and took 45min to reach Lexis Resort.

I am getting too long winded, let me post some pictures to kill it haha...

 Airport Train

 Premium Water Chalet

 View at Lexis Resort

The room is dusty and looks like it need some renovation. It comes with a queen bed and a day bed and a small balcony but no view lol... Staff is friendly, helpful and wifi is strong.

Upon arrival, don't know where to go so we just hop over to Grand Lexis which is just beside us for lunch. So expensive la and wait super long for our food. Food wise, not so bad but resort price I guess is expected.

Our lunch

Brought baby to swim and let him 'power charge' for dinner! We went to PD Waterfront to grab our dinner. Asked the concierge to get us a taxi which cost us $40RM for both way! Daylight robbery! End up we choose Kim's Palace restaurant  for dinner. Not much crowd, don't expect much service too. Here's what we ordered:

Marmite Chicken: Tender, nice!

Kangkong Belacan

Baby Kailan

LaLa: More shell than flesh and sandy

Steamed Fish in Hong Kong Style, Fresh but is not WELL CLEANED! Fish Scales all over! mad

Total damage: $180RM plus drinks and rice

We went for a walked while waiting for our taxi and saw this very old fun fair which evoked nostalgic memories of my childhood. Singapore used to have this fair once awhile but sadly our children won't be able to see it anymore.

That all for my stay at Port Dickson! Is a quiet town mainly people come for holiday and relax. Overall is a good stay but probably will drive here the next trip. Continue for my KL write up wink
