Orto - Long Jiang Chinos

After Bottle Tree has closed down we yet to visit this newly revamp place which also renamed to Orto. Pretty similar concept with fishing, prawning and kiddos are able to catch some guppies home. Well I didn't tried that so I couldn't advise if it's free or come with a fees. I would said things here are much expensive than before. You can get more details on Bumblebeemum website. Their prawning area and I guess the kiddos play area are separated into two sides. Is a small walked 'up hill' which I was too hungry to go up and explored  So after a stroll around their fishing area we head to the Long Jiang Restaurant for our dinner. 

They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We are seated quite close to the outdoor side, thankfully the weather was good and wasn't that hot. I tried google for review but there isn't much on it, nerveless I still hoping their food is good. Here's what we ordered:

Forgotten if this is Scallop or Lobster soup  And when it was served, I thought it will be like those soup we had at Jack's Place. But it turn out to be light and tasty unlike those thick and creamy version.

Kong Ba Pau (Braised Pork Belly) - Ordered this dish as it comes with the soft steamed bun which I can let my boy to snack on. The pau was indeed very soft and fluffy. The pork was very well braised, flavorful and very tender! Even my 76 years old mother-in law like it!

Tofu - The sauce was a little blend, nothing much to shout about

Salted Egg Prawn Ball - This was my favorite of all dishes! It taste more like cereal prawn to me   I couldn't really taste any salted egg but the prawn was succulent, slightly milky taste and very well coated!

Vegetable with mei cai

Seafood Fried Rice - Is a little blend, I ordered this for my boy so it suit him perfectly!

We also ordered their Blacken Noodle, taste like Penang Hokkien Mee to me. Overall we paid about $120 included drinks. Service was good, they have baby bowl and utensils and nice scenery. I would recommend and would be back again. I felt it is pretty worth it compare to 'Dian Xiao Er', whereby we paid $90 but we don't get as much as we had here.

Lian Soon Huat Seafood / Zhi Char

Last weekend I was craving for zhi char but don't wish to go to Bei Zhan due to the super and over crowded queue. So I went to google and search what sizzling wok recommending. FYI sizzling wok is our local TV programme which recommend nice zhi char in Singapore. And I found Lian Soon Huat Seafood / Zhi Char which is located in Yishun and is super close to my place.

Located at a coffeeshop at Blk 471 Yishun Ave 11 you can spot it along the road side. Wasn't very crowded and still manage to find table but their zhi char got to wait for at least 20min. Saw quite a few of the people ordering their fish head curry or fish head steamboat, I thought of trying their fish head curry but my girl can't take that level of spicy so too bad.

So we ordered sizzling wok recommended dishes, Deep Fried Pig Intestine, Sambal Vegetable, La La (spicy clams), Soup of the day which is Winter Melon Soup and Thai Style Fried Chicken.

After waiting for 20minutes................................

Kindly pardon me because my comment will be slightly long winded than usual lol... First taste of it was Good! But after having 2nd piece we start to feel our mouth aching  maybe the chef shouldn't cut into chunks but thinner slices so it will be more crispy and not so rubbery. Sorry to said that the sauce isn't any special just a little sweet taste that all.

La La - Is always my girl favourite dish

Not very spicy and is fresh and well clean as it don't have the 'sandy' taste.

Thai Style Fried Chicken - Hmmm.... the sauce is sour and spicy just like Thai salad sauce as for the chicken is a little over fried, kinda of hard on the outside.

Sambal Vegetable - My favourite dish of all

Sorry I forget to take the picture of the soup but it was really good, light and tasty. Total damage $38 worth the return for their food!

Men-ichi Kyoto Tonkotsu Ramen @ Northpoint

I always happen to walked pass this small ramen restaurant in Northpoint Shopping Centre but I never went to try it due to the long queue during dinner time. I decided to give it a try but I went before dinner time to avoid the long wait. Looking at their menu they don't really have much variety of Ramen. They also have a few kinds of sushi and side dishes for you to choose from. I order the Teriyaki Ramen, Unagi sushi and my favourite Salmon Skin.

They had given me Salmon Ramen which is not what I order, I only notice it after I had a bite on the meat. I called the staff to tell them but he insist that I order the Salmon Ramen and show me the order that he took from me. I guess he is not happy about it because I inform him after I had ate half a bowl of the ramen. Then he came to me again and said he can change the order for me but I rejected. I am kinda of upset by their service already and I told him I am almost full so I don't see the point of getting another bowl of ramen. After I pay my bill I feedback to their manager telling her that the staff should repeat the customer order. Hopefully they will take my feedback seriously and don't allow mistake to happen again.

The salmon skin was crispy and nice and their sushi was fresh and not soggy. The food here was not too bad but too bad I will not come back to this place again for what had happen.

Taste of Thailand (Previously located at Sembawang Shopping)

Hi, I am back, after my holiday after my computer crash. Suddenly craving for Taste of Thailand the cheapest 'Zhi Char' that I had eaten. Not just because of the price of the food, the taste was quite nice too. For the price you pay is definitely worth it. The dinner crowd on weekend is quite pack but not to worry they will take your order first and once you are seated the food will be serve within 10 minutes.

They are previously located at Sembawang Shopping Centre after the shopping centre was renovated they shifted to Yishun Industrial Park and another outlet is located at Blk 710A Yishun Ring Road. The variety of food here is not much and is mainly a mixed of Thai and Chinese food. Their specialist dish is their Pineapple Rice and the Fried Fish that goes with their sauce. And not forgetting their friendly and good services they provided.  Here the food I usually order...

Tom Yum Seafood Soup ($3) which don't really taste that spicy at all

Pineapple Fried Rice ($5) they have 3 different serving

The Fried Fish ($12 and $15) fresh and fragrant, don't forget to dip with their sauce

Garlic Chicken ($6) sweet and tender

French Bean ($6) crunchy and nice

Kway Chap

This is usually my favorite breakfast on weekend. They are quite crowded on Sunday and you will expect to wait for more than 20min for your order. They only open in the morning and close around 1 or 2pm.
