Che Go Korean BBQ Tebrau City Jusco

Brought my bestie to JB for a walked and had planned to bring her to have buffet at Grand Paragon hotel since is for her birthday but a pity that their buffet only served on Saturday. So we thought of bring her for korean food since she is a hard core fan of korean stuff, simply mad crazy of it LOL

Okay I better stop saying her before she murder me lols.... We chance upon this restaurant at Jusco and they had a great deal for 4 pax for $78RM but is not buffet style but I still find it cheap.

Best thing about this place is you don't have to cook the meat by yourself but the staff will do it for you and the bad is if you choose to sit at the low table be prepare to step on a sticky and oily floor. Their side dishes are free flow but not much variety, I miss the one I had in Singapore at Ju Shin Jung their variety is so much that can filled up your stomach. The set meal comes with one choices of meat and we choose chicken since they can't have pork here (you should know why) and it comes with the sides, seafood pancake, korean style fried cellophane noodles (dong fen) and soup. My bestie was talking about nice and very yummy korean rice cake so we also ordered for her and forgotten to take picture of this and also ordered dumpling soup requested by my husband.

The menu

The BBQ at the side of the table

Seafood Pancake - I am missing this! Is was very fragrant and nice, is not fluffy or very starchy aiya is just very nice la LOL

Kimchi Soup - Nah not nice at all, is like red water soup totally tasteless

Dumpling soup - This is nice, very light and sweet we finish the whole pot of soup! Dumpling of course is chicken as well, nothing special except the soup

Total bill come up to $150RM, expensive or not for all the food we ordered is for you to decide Very Happy

Red Star Restaurant

Brought mother in law here for their dim sum last Sunday. We reach at about 10am and manage to get a table after 5 minutes. We were sitting close to the entrance and after a few minutes I got shocked by the sudden queue which went all the way to the lift outside the restaurant.

The restaurant was crowded and packed and it is located in a HDB in Chinatown. Our table is not at a good spot as it is close to the entrance and their dim sum was served in those push carts trolley and so we got to wait much longer than the rest to order our food.

Their Xiao Long Bao is dry type without the 'soup' in the dumpling unlike Crystal Jade. I like the Banana pastry which is beside the You Tiao, is sweet and crispy thou is cold.

Mango pastry

Egg tart was super! Is similar to the portuguese egg tart, the tart was flaky and soft. My girl love it so much that she had 2 of it!

Char Siew Pau, I like this type of pau unlike those sold in  a steamer in coffeeshop. Is very soft and fluffy and the filling is very sweet and nice.

Total bill come up to $40 plus with a pot of hot tea. Price was a little steep but worth the return for their dim sum.

Trans Studio Bandung November 2012

Was sick after came back from Bandung, was down with flu than terrible cough. Anyway here the update on the Trans Studio at Bandung.

Was there on 10th Nov (Sat) we reach there around 2.pm Indo time. Before I came here I read up alot of reviews  and do alot of research and my main purpose is to bring my daughter here to play and enjoy but it turn out to be a very disappointing trip. Thumb down

When we reach at the ticketing counter I was seriously surprise because there is totally no queue but we still went ahead to get the VIP ticket which cost 400,000 rupiah as I read from the reviews stating that weekend are suppose to be very crowded. We had a hard time communicating with them is like a chicken talking to a duck!!!  They can't really speak basic English thou my husband know a little of their language but is totally different and very hard to capture what they are saying. Is bahasa not melayu, really vomit blood!

When we enter the theme park I totally regret buying VIP ticket there was no crowd! Unlike the review and the blog I went to read it was totally opposite!! And to those who want to grab some food my advice is have it before you enter the theme park. There is food junction outside the theme park at the same level and even A&W. If I knew earlier I won't eat their pathetic fried chicken meal!

After filling our stomach we went to walk around and the only thing my 8 years old girl can enjoy is the dragon ride, the indoor playground, the water ride and the car ride that all! The rest require at least 135cm and I doubt a 9 years old child would dare for their scary rides which is like 5 level that high. Another thing is their map only comes in Malay and no English language and same goes to all their shows.

Me and my husband never tried this as it is simply too scary and dizzy and we don't wish to throw out our food after the ride so we skip it lol

One thing about VIP is like a 'short cut' to the rides with many people stares at you but the bad of having VIP ticket is you might not even get the chance of enjoying that short cut at times. We went for the water rides using our VIP, end up we got to squeeze into other people queue and that is their so called VIP? Horrible!! Genting theme park is way better than here, I personally feel that their theme park is only meant for their local people and not tourist like us.

Inside here is where the indoor playground is, which my girl enjoy and we can safely go walked around and went back to fetch her.

Their shows and their parade, my personal suggestion is don't waste your time coming here. The rides are very limited and if it rains the roller coaster will be closed as the roller coaster is outdoor but all other rides are indoor and always remember to get a driver to drive you around as it is not easy to get a cab in Bandung!

Bandung Trip November 2012

I am back from a short trip to Bandung not going there to drink Bandung la LOL but heard from my friends that the place has many factory outlet to shop. Went google and do research and it look great (but it turn out to be opposite) and so I booked the ticket and went for it.

Got the ticket from Airasia for the 3 of us for $200/pax, I booked this ticket 4 months back and was looking forward to it! The day we check in at Changi Airport my god the airport check in system was down! Luckily the flight only got delay for just awhile and I'm so glad that the hotel staff at Bandung was very responsive when I email them to inform that we might be arriving late.

I requested over at the Airasia counter to put us together but end up I was sitting with my daughter and my husband is sitting elsewhere. The worse is during the day we are returning from Bandung we check in at the airport and same as usual I requested to be sited together but it was worse than ever! AIRASIA SUCK!!! Don't they understand what is SITTING TOGETHER!!! They place my girl in seat C I am in seat E and my husband is way behind us! And I got to asked the lady beside me to change seat with me so I can look after my girl who is only 8! Thankful that the lady is understanding and willing to exchange seat with me. This is one thing I hate about budget air because people can get to buy seats so those who don't will be place randomly in the 'empty holes'. But they shouldn't be separating the mother and the kid like this! Other than Phuket I won't take anymore budget unless I don't have any choice!

I already book my trip to Hong Kong for next year March thou Tigerairway only cost $350 but I rather go by SQ or Cathay. SQ offer about $520 with less than $200 extra I get better flight with better seat with no arguing for it! But I book Cathay instead because they offer much attractive package which include 2 night stay in Macau and ferry ticket for $720 per pax. I guess I whine too much already let's continue to my Bandung trip.

Arrival at Bandung after a 2 hours flight and I was shocked when I arrived at their airport. We have to walked to their small and pathetic airport and we got to waited for the baggage which only have one system operating. From the airport to our hotel actually is less than 30min but because of the bad jam on weekend it took longer.

Finally we reach our hotel at Ottenville Boutique hotel, actually I booked it wrongly but I never regret staying here. Our room was spacious and I love the big comfortable bed and their bathroom which has a separate standing shower and bathtub best of all they have an extra sofa bed. What I don't like is the room is located on the first floor and right beside the cafe and I got kiss by the lovely mosquito at night!

Checking in

Our Premier King Room

Sofa bed! The big room has 2 TV one in front the bed and another one here.

Spacious bathroom

Lian Soon Huat Seafood / Zhi Char

Last weekend I was craving for zhi char but don't wish to go to Bei Zhan due to the super and over crowded queue. So I went to google and search what sizzling wok recommending. FYI sizzling wok is our local TV programme which recommend nice zhi char in Singapore. And I found Lian Soon Huat Seafood / Zhi Char which is located in Yishun and is super close to my place.

Located at a coffeeshop at Blk 471 Yishun Ave 11 you can spot it along the road side. Wasn't very crowded and still manage to find table but their zhi char got to wait for at least 20min. Saw quite a few of the people ordering their fish head curry or fish head steamboat, I thought of trying their fish head curry but my girl can't take that level of spicy so too bad.

So we ordered sizzling wok recommended dishes, Deep Fried Pig Intestine, Sambal Vegetable, La La (spicy clams), Soup of the day which is Winter Melon Soup and Thai Style Fried Chicken.

After waiting for 20minutes................................

Deep Fried Pig Intestine - Look exactly what sizzling wok recommended lol
Kindly pardon me because my comment will be slightly long winded than usual lol... First taste of it was Good! But after having 2nd piece we start to feel our mouth aching LOL maybe the chef shouldn't cut into chunks but thinner slices so it will be more crispy and not so rubbery. Sorry to said that the sauce isn't any special just a little sweet taste that all.

La La - Is always my girl favourite dish Hungry?
Not very spicy and is fresh and well clean as it don't have the 'sandy' taste.

Thai Style Fried Chicken - Hmmm.... the sauce is sour and spicy just like Thai salad sauce as for the chicken is a little over fried, kinda of hard on the outside.

Sambal Vegetable - My favourite dish of all Very Happy

Sorry I forget to take the picture of the soup but it was really good, light and tasty. Total damage $38 worth the return for their food! Thumb up

Sushi King @ Tebrau City

Happened to be at Jusco JB on a weekend and my girl was craving for sushi so we went to Sushi King to tried out.

It was crowded, restaurant was full, service here was very bad and food here wasn't fantastic at all! We were given the seats near to the belt and what surprise me was that people from the table at the side came to the belt and grab the plate instead of ordering. Do you get to see this in Singapore? Really speechless! Lols

Husband order his Teriyaki noodle and my girl order kids meal since it was only $9.90RM. I had what was on the belt and also ordered my favourite salmon skin. It was upset because their salmon skin was soggy skin with weird sauce, is cold and yucks! Thumb down

No doubt some of their sushi is real cheap but cheap don't come good. I reminded them more than 3 times for my girl kids meal they just asked me to wait. After my husband has finished his noodle my girl food still not here yet and my husband was boil and went straight to their kitchen and asked for it. They asked him to go back his seats and it will be served shortly but my husband insist them to do it straight away and in the end they are the one who has forgotten our ordered but keep asking us to wait. And I don't understand why is it so difficult to prepare the kids meal whereby is only a few pieces of chicken with rice.

This will be my first and last time coming here. I wonder if they have tried the real sushi they should come tried our local sushi is so much better than their so called sushi. Calling themselves Sushi King it simply don't justify!

Peperoni Pizzeria @ Frankel Ave

Heard from my colleague about this 'XXL Pizza' that he had and immediately I went to google for it. Found 2 places that had this 20 inch pizza, one at Orchard Central called Manhattan Pizza and another one is call Peperoni which has a few outlets.

So I called up 2 of my besties along with my hubby and my girl to go to Peperoni to tried out. We went to their outlet at Frankel Avenue in Siglap area. Luckily is not hard to find and restaurant wasn't very crowded just very noisy lols

They do take in reservation in case you need to reserve as the restaurant area was not very huge. Service was good, they call me before my reservation timing to confirm if I am still coming. The main purpose of coming here is to try their XXL pizza which can serve about 6 persons depending on how much you can eat. The waitress who took our order gave us the wrong size of the pizza which we already told her we want the XXL but she give us L which isn't enough for us. Luckily the supervisor is nice and agree to change for us.

We were kinda of shocked at the moment when the pizza arrived hahaha.... Hubby said thankful that the pizza flavour can be spilt into 2 if not you can get over doze by the pizza which can be quite sickening. We chosen Seafood and Hawaiian for the topping and the pizza was super thin and super crisp at the edge that it will break. I prefer the pizza at the edge because those in the center are too soft and 'heavy'.

Besides pizza we also order chicken wings which was good, potato wedges for my girl and fried beef ball which my besties said it was nice too but too bad I don't take beef. They don't charge service tax here but the GST is unavoidable lols! Total bills come up to $80 for the 4 of us which was not very expensive and given the portion of the pizza is definitely worth it!
