Tiffany Cafe @ Furama City Centre

It was my friend birthday so we decided to treat her to Tiffany Cafe for dinner. They are having this 1-for-1 with OUB cards so I would say is pretty affordable for the price you pay and for the food you get at Tiffany Cafe. Pretty crowded during dinner time even it was a weekday and it was quite noisy too due to the crowds. My friend wanted to order a can of coke but was shocked when they are selling a can of coke at $6! Is was a International buffet but not much of varieties, no Oyster and Japanese corner only have Salmon and Squid which is kind of pathetic. I went to try the raw sotong from the salad corner which make me feel like throwing up after chewing on it. Chef corner only have 3 types, BBQ stingray, Mutton and Crispy noodle with gravy. We had their dessert more LOL the Durian Puree was a bit disappointed it does not have the strong fragrant of the Durian smell, the Chocolate Eclairs was not bad. For me I think once is enough I doubt I will go back for their buffet again. Buffet dinner at Tiffany Cafe is at $41++ on weekdays.

Must try:
1) Cooked Prawns (Sweet, juicy and fresh)
2) Crispy noodle with gravy
3) Mutton (no mutton smell)
4) Smoked Salmon
5) Salmon (Fresh)
6) Durian Puree (so-so)
7) Chocolate Eclairs

Gallery by the Straits (Sembawang Yacht Club)

My boy brought me here for dinner yesterday, this place is seriously Ulu and seriously if you don't drive is very hard to come here also. Let's say if you take a cab here you will need to call a cab out lolz!!! or you walk about 20 minutes out. The ambience of this place is nice because is located beside the waterfront also a family place as I saw alot of family's and also couple who come here for dinner. They have live band on weekend I would say that this place is quite relaxing.

Looking through their menu they have some BBQ items, chinese and western food and when I observe most people was having chinese food. Saw the review online alot of people mention that their Curry Fish Head is a must try so we order their popular dish with Beancurd with Chicken Meat. Just take note that their plain rice portion is quite small and their lime juice is free flow.

Their Curry Fish Head was serve in a claypot just be caution that the gravy might split on you. The gravy of the curry was very thick!!! As you can see from my picture the gravy was so thick that I couldn't even see the fish meat. My boy say it was very nice, I admit it was nice because of the strong and thick coconut gravy and the spicness but the fish was so little same goes to the vegetable, I hardly see any lady finger inside. Next is the beancurd, OMG!!! there is a strand of HAIR on the cauliflower after we had ate the beancurd so I requested to change. The first thing the waitress do was she took that plate of beancurd away and was discussing with her colleague before she bring it to the kitchen. They said they will change a new plate for us but I felt that it was actually the previous one because the portion was still the same. Very bad sevice provided!!!

Total bill comes up to $38 for 2 person, the curry fish head was $22. I think I will still prefer the Jurong West Curry Fish Head than here which I felt is more worth it.

Curry Fish Head @ Jurong West Blk 496

Was at Jurong area and my boy has been telling me that there is a place that sell very nice Curry Fish Head so we went there for dinner. It was located at Blk 496 Jurong West inside a coffee shop, there is only one stall that is selling Curry Fish Head. We order a small serving  of Curry Fish Head I think is about $15 and a plate of vegetable with plain rice.

The Curry Fish Head was serve in a claypot, as you can see there is alot of vegetable inside and I am suprise there is pineapple inside too. The gravy was very nice especially with rice, for me I can't really take spicy but I still can manage with this :P After a few sip of the gravy I started to have running nose LOL!!! The fish was very fresh and smooth, no fishy smell and I would say the portion was quite big.

Not too sure if this Curry Fish Head stall was popular in Jurong but I will definitely recommend it to my friends :D

Ju Shin Jung (West Coast)

I was craving for Korean BBQ for weeks lolz and my girlfriend suggested this place as she came here before. This place was recommended by a variety show in Channel 8 long time ago I always wanted to come here to try but it was too far away from where I stay and I would say if you are not driving this place could be quite inconvenient.

This place is oppsite Haw Par Villa located at YESS Centre, they have a indoor playground for children and they have 2 types of sitting area for you to choose from. Service wise I would say is average, sometimes helpful sometimes not. When we are settling our bill the staff actually forgot to give us the change so this is something to take note of. Their Unlimited Buffet is only on weekday so we order 2 soup and 2 meat for BBQ. They have a lot of side dishes and if you are having rice, simply with all this side dishes to go with can make you full already.

Their Pumpkin Soup is very sweet and taste like dessert to me :P I love their Kimchi is very nice and their Ikan Bilis too. Their Ginseng Soup is very light it can be a bit bland for some that's why they provide salt, the Ginseng taste is quite strong and the chicken inside is very tender with strong Ginseng taste too. The staff actually helped to scooped the soup for us. Next is the Spicy Seafood Soup, it look red and spicy but is not spicy at all but the soup is very nice too quite similar to Kimchi soup. Both of the soup we order the portion are just nice for 4 person to share. We order 1 marinated pork and 1 chicken, the staff also helped us to cooked and cut up the meat. After the meat is done u wrapped with the vegetable along with the sauce they provided and eat..... Yummylicious :P The meat is sweet and tender I like it with the bean paste sauce :D Lastly is the dessert, free 1 piece of watermelon per person and a sweet drink they called it rice grain water, I have no idea what is that but is very light and sweet.

I had a very full and satisfy dinner, thanks to my girlfriend :) Total bill come up to $103 for 4 person.

Pu Tien Restaurant Jurong Point

Went over to Jurong Point on Sunday and decided to go Pu Tien for dinner. We took a quene number at 6.30pm and we got our table at around 7.15pm so I guess is better to make a reservation than to wait so long for a table. They used to have have set menu for 2pax at $38 but they have it was no longer available.
Here's what we order
1)Deep Fried Pork Knuckle ($4.90/ea min 2 pcs), Deep Fried Knuckle the skin was crispy but a bit too saltish for my liking, not much meat but more fats :P The spices they use to marinate the pork are quite nice and fragrant.
2) Beancurd with Kailan ($10.90), this dish is quite normal nothing much to comment about it.
3)700g Seabass Steam Fish ($30+), the fish was very fresh but I realise there is some sort of weird smell or taste of the fish than my boy told me, that is because the fish is breed by them unlike those from the market. The fish was soft and tender, the sauce was very tasty but  abit saltish too. The serving of the fish was just nice for 2 person.
4) Chilli Live Mussel ($12.90), is like the 'lala' we ate at those bbq stall in Newton Circus. The sauce was spicy and nice but there is more empty shell than the mussel.
5) A pot of Chrysanthemum tea, light and refreshing that is what you need after a heavy meal :)
Overall $77 for the total bill, might be a little too expensive for 2 person, not wise to come here often for dinner. I think they have 10% discount on certain credit card on weekday.

Hong Ji Claypot Bak Kut Teh 宏记砂锅肉骨茶 (Marsiling Lane)

I always wanted to try this ba ku teh stall, finally went to tried it for lunch on a sunday afternoon. Here, they serve herbal type of ba ku teh, honestly speaking I find it quite hard to find herbal type of ba ku teh nowdays, mostly are pepperish type. Not much crowd during the lunch hour so our food came quite fast.

We order a claypot with mixed ba ku teh, you tiao and a small claypot of braised pig intestine. The herbal taste of the soup is just nice for me :P not too strong and not too bitter, perfect :) But I find that the tau pok in the soup does taste weird with the soup. As for the braised pig intestine was a little bit of disappointed, the braising taste was not strong enough but the texture was very soft and chewy, too bad. For those living in the north craving for ba ku teh may come here and give a try :)

Little Vietnam

A colleague of mine brought us to this place for dinner. The restaurant is tucked at the corner of Grandlink Square, hardly people will notice this place. Is a small, family style kind of restaurant and is a little dim inside that I have to on the flash light to take picture. Surprising, the food aren't expensive, price start from $5 which is very affordable. And they are only open from evening till midnight.

Here what we order, Fried Chicken Wing, Mixed Finger Food, Crabmeat Style Soup, LaLa, Garlic Cockles, Vietnam Popiah and some others. I actually order more when I went there the 2nd time so you can see how nice the food they serve here that I even went back again :P Oh... don't forget to order their traditional Vietnam coffee and try when you are here, if you are a coffee lover you will love the rich and aromatic coffee taste. Total bill is around $80 plus to share among 9 of us, quite reasonable isn't?

Fried Chicken - Is so juicy and tender but is a bit oily, anyway fried chicken wing is already fatty who cares that additional of oil :P

Mixed Finger Food - Something for you to snack before your main comes :D

Crabmeat Style Soup - You just got to tried this, the soup base is thick like those shark fin soup with sliver needle noodle (lao shu fen) inside with some pork meat. The soup is really nice, I actually order this again when I went back there.

Lala - Cooked in soup style, worth a tried :)

Garlic Cockles - This is something different to me, seriously is my first time having cockles fried with garlic. Some may afraid to eat cockles because of the bloody and raw taste but this is so much nicer and no more bloods on your hands. We order 3 plates of this, it taste very fragrant after fried with the garlic and not over cooked and not forgetting to dip with their special chilli sauce, thumbs up :D

Vietnam Popiah - I don't really like this, tasteless and have a strong taste of raw vegetable.
